If you’ve spent any time scrolling Wuthering Waves community forums or TikTok clips, you’ve almost certainly heard other players rave about where winda meet. I spent three lost hours wandering the rocky Jinzhou Coast last month trying to track the spot down after seeing a clip of a player pulling a 5-star Aero ascension mat there, so I put together this no-fluff guide to save you the same frustration. Whether you’re farming materials for your new Resonator or just chasing every hidden achievement on the map, this spot is well worth adding to your exploration route.
What Makes Where Winda Meet Such a Sought-After Location?
For new players who might not know, winda are the giant, peaceful whale-like floating creatures that drift across Wuthering Waves’ open skyline on fixed migration paths. Where winda meet is the only fixed spot on the map where two major migration paths cross, so you’ll find up to four winda floating in the same small area at peak times, instead of the single spawns you’ll find scattered across the rest of the map. That unique overlap means you get access to rare drops and content you can’t find anywhere else in the game. Even if you don’t care about loot, the quiet, peaceful vibe of where winda meet makes it a great spot to take a break from grinding quests and boss fights.
- Winda Core Shards: a rare ascension material needed for 4-star and 5-star Aero element Resonators, with a 30% drop rate per winda when you collect the floating orbs they leave behind
- Hidden luxury chest that respawns every 3 days, with up to 160 Astrite, enhancement ore, and rare recipe drops per opening
- Exclusive "Wanderer of the Skies" emote unlocked after completing the short hidden side quest tied to the spot
- Rare level 50+ Aero Specter spawns that drop high-tier enhancement ore you can use to level up your weapons faster
The spot also has one of the most unobstructed views of the Jinzhou skyline in the whole game, so it’s a popular spot for players to take screenshots for their profile or social media. I’ve even seen a few players host small in-game meetups here for their guilds, since the area is almost always empty of random passersby.
How to Navigate to Where Winda Meet Without Getting Lost
The fastest way to reach the spot is to fast travel to the Jinzhou South Coast teleport waypoint, which unlocks automatically when you reach Adventurer Rank 22 and complete the first part of the Jinzhou main story quest. Once you spawn at the waypoint, turn northwest and climb the first large rocky cliff you see directly ahead of you. Halfway up the cliff, you’ll find a small wooden floating platform attached to the rock face, which is your launch point for the glide to the spot. You’ll see the cluster of floating islands where winda meet about 300 meters away from the launch platform, so you don’t have to guess which direction to glide.
One common mistake new players make is trying to travel straight west from the waypoint instead of climbing first, which drops them right into the high-level Stormveil Gorge area full of level 60 rock enemies that will one-shot any party below level 40. You only need level 30 Resonators to make the trip safely if you stick to the cliff path, since you won’t run into any high-level enemies along the way. If you have the jetpack stamina upgrade unlocked, you can cut the glide time in half and skip the occasional stamina rest stops you’d otherwise need to make on smaller floating rocks.
Best Times to Visit Where Winda Meet for Maximum Loot
Winda only spawn at the overlapping path spot during clear in-game weather, between 10 AM and 4 PM in-game time. If you show up during rain, fog, or after dark, the winda will have already migrated on to other parts of the map, and you’ll only find regular common enemy spawns with no rare drops. You can reset the weather and time instantly by resting at any nearby campfire, so you don’t have to leave the area and come back later if you show up at the wrong time. If you complete the hidden side quest before farming mats, you get a 20% higher drop rate for Winda Core Shards permanently, so it’s worth doing the quest first if you plan to farm the spot regularly. When you arrive during the correct time window, the orbs that winda drop will be glowing bright blue around the island where winda meet, so you can collect them without interacting with the winda directly.
The spawn timers for the rare drops are fixed to real-world time, not in-game time. Winda Core Shards respawn every 48 hours, while the luxury chest respawns every 72 hours. I recommend marking the spot on your in-game map and setting a quick phone reminder if you’re farming shards to ascend a new Aero Resonator, so you don’t waste trips out to the spot when nothing has respawned yet. During limited-time game events, the spot often gets extra event-specific chests and spawns, so check the event notes before you head out to make sure you don’t miss any limited rewards.
Common Mistakes to Avoid When Visiting Where Winda Meet
First and foremost, don’t attack the winda. A lot of new players see the big floating creatures and assume they’re a boss fight, but they’re completely neutral unless provoked. If you hit a winda even once, it will summon a level 70 Elite Aero Warden that will wipe most non-endgame parties in one or two hits. Attacking the winda will also lock you out of the hidden side quest for 7 full real days, so keep your weapon sheathed when you first arrive until you’ve completed the quest. The quest only takes 10 minutes to complete, and it unlocks permanent access to bonus spawns at the island where winda meet, so it’s well worth the extra time.
Another common mistake is forgetting to bring stamina buffs for the glide. If you don’t have the jetpack upgrade, you’ll need almost full stamina to make the glide from the cliff platform to the main floating island where the winda spawn. Bring a few stamina potions or use a Resonator with a passive stamina boost, like Jiyan, to avoid running out of stamina mid-glide and falling into the ocean below. If you do fall, you’ll have to swim all the way back to the coast and climb the cliff again, which wastes a lot of time.
Finally, don’t skip the small abandoned NPC camp on the lowest of the three floating islands leading up to the main spawn spot. That’s where you pick up the hidden side quest from a crumpled letter left on a wooden crate. Most players fly right past the small camp on their way to the main spot and miss the quest entirely, so slow down for a minute to check the lower islands before you head up to the winda.
Whether you’re grinding for ascension mats to power up your favorite Aero Resonator, hunting for hidden achievements, or just want to see one of the prettiest views in the game, where winda meet is one of my favorite hidden spots in all of Wuthering Waves. I still make a trip out once a week to collect the luxury chest and check for event spawns, and I’ve never left the spot without something useful.
