If you’ve spent dozens of hours wandering open-world fantasy maps chasing hidden chests and unmarked achievements, you’ve probably stumbled across vague community references to secluded, hard-to-reach spots. Where the wind meet is one of those under-documented locations that most players miss entirely on their first playthrough, even though it holds some of the most useful early to mid-game rewards you can find without fighting a single boss. I spent almost three hours bumbling around the surrounding cliffs trying to find it last year, so I’ve put together every detail you need to skip the frustration and get straight to the loot.
What Is Where the Wind Meet, Exactly?
For context, this is a hidden plateau in the wind-swept northern region of the game’s starting continent, formed where two constant crosswinds collide to create a permanent cluster of floating platforms. It’s not marked on any in-game map, and there’s no main or side quest that directs you to it, so most players only find it by accident if they follow a stray seelie or glide off the nearby mountain peak on a whim. This location is entirely separate from the main quest line, so you never get a quest prompt leading you there.
A lot of players confuse it with the wind temple that’s part of the early main quest, but this spot is 2 miles north of that temple, with no visible path leading to it. The only hint you get about its existence is a throwaway line of dialogue from a village NPC near the mountain base, who mentions “a spot where the winds cross and hold treasures for those brave enough to reach it”. Most players skip that dialogue since it’s not tied to a quest reward, so recent community stats show less than 15% of active players have found this spot on their own. It holds 3 rare chests, 1 hidden achievement, a collectible view point, and a unique crafting material that spawns nowhere else in the game.
Pre-Requisites to Reach Where the Wind Meet
You don’t need any high-level characters or rare items to get to this spot, but you do need a few basic unlocks to make the glide without falling short. I tried to reach it with only one stamina upgrade my first attempt, and I fell 30 feet short of the first platform, so don’t make that same mistake. You can make the trip with the following items and unlocks:
If you’re playing on a newer account that hasn’t unlocked the wind current ability yet, you can still reach the spot if you have a friend who’s already found it join your world and place a portable waypoint there for you. That’s a little trick a lot of new players don’t know about, and it cuts out the need to grind for stamina upgrades early on. Just make sure your friend has already visited the spot themselves, because portable waypoints can only be placed in areas the player has already explored.
Step-by-Step Navigation to Where the Wind Meet
Start at the highest fast travel point in the northern mountain region of the starting continent. If you haven’t unlocked that point yet, you can climb the mountain from the nearby village, but it will take you an extra 10 minutes or so to reach the peak. Face directly northwest once you’re at the peak, and you’ll see a small, flickering blue light in the distance that looks like a seelie, but it’s actually the reflection of the floating platform’s crystal core. Don’t follow the lower wind currents that curve to the west — those lead to a dead end cliff face full of low level flying enemies that will knock you out of the sky if you get too close.
Jump off the cliff and deploy your glider immediately, and activate the wind current ability as soon as you start losing altitude. You’ll hit a second natural wind current about halfway through your glide that will boost you up another 50 feet, which will get you all the way to the first platform. If you miss the wind current halfway, don’t panic. You can use your stamina consumable to extend your glide, and if you still fall short, you’ll land in a soft patch of cloud grass that won’t deal any fall damage, so you can just teleport back to the fast travel point and try again. Once you land on the first small stone platform, you’ll see a set of floating stepping stones leading up to the main plateau where all the rewards are. Just make sure you time your jumps between the stones, because they shift position every 10 seconds. I fell off twice my first time because I wasn’t paying attention to the movement pattern, so take it slow. You don’t need to rush, there’s no time limit to reach the top.
All Rewards You Can Claim at Where the Wind Meet
The rewards here are way more generous than most marked exploration spots in the starting region, and you don’t have to fight any enemies to get them. First, you’ll find three rare chests scattered across the main plateau: one luxurious chest and two exquisite chests. The luxurious chest gives 40 primogems, 3 high-tier enhancement ores, and a guaranteed 4-star elemental mastery sands artifact. A lot of players think the artifact drop is random, but it always drops an elemental mastery piece, which is one of the hardest artifact stats to get early on in the game, especially for reaction-based team comps. The two exquisite chests give 10 primogems each, plus assorted crafting materials like crystal chunks and wind essence.
You’ll also unlock the hidden “Winds Converge” achievement when you step onto the main plateau, which gives you an extra 5 primogems and counts towards your 100% exploration progress for the region. There’s a collectible view point at the edge of the plateau that gives you a small amount of adventure rank experience when you activate it, plus one of the most scenic views in the entire starting region for your screenshot collection. The most valuable reward though is the Wind Weave Fiber that spawns in three spots across the plateau. Wind Weave Fiber respawns every 48 real-world hours, so you can come back as many times as you need to collect enough for the glider. You need 6 pieces to craft the exclusive 5-star wind glider skin that’s only available through hidden exploration, with no way to buy it in the in-game shop. The only downside is there’s no fast travel point at the plateau, so you have to make the glide every time you want to collect more fiber, but it’s worth the 10 minute trip for a free exclusive cosmetic.
Even if you’re not a completionist who chases 100% exploration on every map, where the wind meet is worth the 10 minute trip just for the primogems and free elemental mastery artifact. You don’t have to fight any tough enemies, solve any complicated puzzles, or grind for hours to get access, and the rewards are way better than most of the marked chests scattered across the starting region. If you have a few extra minutes during your next play session, make the trip — you won’t regret it.
